Emily grew up in East Freetown, Massachusetts, an hour south of Boston.  She loved to sing from a very early age and was hooked when at age 7, she was cast as Ruthie in her church's production of Peanut Butter Christmas.  From then on, she got involved with everything she could to learn more about performing.  She participated in dance class, voice and flute lessons, and community theatre productions, including a production of Cinderella as one of the Ugly Stepsisters at age 12.  Her passion to perform eventually led her to Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's of Music in Musical Theatre and then headed for New York.

Since then, she has traveled the world doing what she loves.  She has toured Asia as Frau Schmidt and the understudy for Mother Abbess in Broadway Asia’s production of The Sound of Music, and also toured over 20 states as the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella.  She has helped bring many new works to life in New York City, and was also the original Helena for Michael Ching's a cappella opera version of A Midsummer Night's Dream, which debuted at Playhouse on the Square in Memphis in January of 2011 (with an original cast recording that's available on Amazon and iTunes!).

Emily has worked with many other regional theatres in Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, and Tennessee. Recently, Emily has had the pleasure of working much closer to home, with such roles as Thalia in Xanadu with Piper Productions in Brooklyn (skates and all!), and Fantine in Les Miserables, Paulette in Legally Blonde, The Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast, Donna in Mamma Mia!, and Mama Rose in Gypsy with In The Wings Productions in Staten Island.  She has also now directed two shows for this group, Shrek (summer of 2014) and 42nd Street (spring of 2016).

Emily currently resides in Staten Island with her husband, Joseph Scaglione.  They were married in November of 2012 at the Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion in Walt Disney World.  They are also parents to their 2 beautiful children, Ellie and Andy!  She is a Senior IT Project Manager at Sesame Workshop (aka Sesame Street!), and in her spare time, she loves to quilt (click here to see her work!), read, watch movies, see her family and friends, and listen to every musical she can!
